PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY

Keith's youth was spent chasing the dream of becoming a professional baseball player. Unfortunately an accident on the field left Keith injured. This put an end to his pro baseball dreams but with Keith's athletic interests he turned to dance in 1996. Meeting his first dance coach within 4 months of learning the basics in dance Keith joined the Country Spirit Performance Dance Team and quickly became the Team Captain. But he did not stop there … he found a dance partner and in June of 2000 competed and won his first event called 'The Red Hot Dance Festival' in Red Deer, AB. After that he was hooked !!  He found a competitive coach and started training to compete in the UCWDC … and then, shall we say, the rest is history.

In 2005 Keith retired from over 17 years in the commercial Architectural industry as a Senior Technologist and Project Coordinator to follow his passion … dance!!

Keith believes in a strong foundation of natural basic movements as well as mental, physical and emotional connection concepts. His sports training taught him the importance of cross training, conditioning and body mechanics. His background in Architecture and Project Management give him a unique way of 3D thinking & problem solving, which are huge assets when looking at the complexity of body mechanics, dance patterns and choreography.

As a teacher and UCWDC Masters Level Certified Judge he is dedicated to continuously upgrading his knowledge, skills and ability. He believes that dancing is good for the mind, body & spirit. As a professional instructor, his unique, fun and informative teaching style provides students with the exact mixture of understanding to allow them to accelerate their dance !!

Keith fell in love with his now amateur dance partner Christin (Chrissi) Armbruster and in 2015 they were married. Together they dance, teach and perform all across North America as Chrissi continues to compete and better her skills in partner dancing. Chrissi is originally from Berlin, Germany where she had an extensive background in competitive Acrobatics up until 2002. She was a featured performer in the “TIB” (Turngemeinde in Berlin) competitive acrobatics group. The group won 4 consecutive German National Championships as well Chrissi won the Polish Championships and Berlin Championships in Solo and Treo Acrobatics for many years before retiring from competitive acrobatics to follow her passion of dance and move to Canada to be with Keith.
